Publow, William Francis

William Frances Publow enlisted a few months after his eldest son was born in 1943. He returned home to his wife and son in 1945. Our Father rarely talked about his wartime experiences. Today we would probably say he showed symptoms of PTSD. He did say that he barely escaped from his tank that was hit by the enemy. He said he was very fortunate to survive and we believe that he saw some of his fellow comrades perish that day.
