George was born July 29, 1894. and enlisted (with his Fathers permission), on May 6, 1916 at Sharbot Lake, Ontario. He was with the 146 Battalion, (Ontario Regiment), CEF (Canadian Expedition Force). After CFT he sailed to Europe on the SS Southland in September 1916, arriving at Liverpool England on October 6, 1916 where he transferred to the 95th Battalion. He had many transfers and was wounded by gunfire on two occasions, spending time in hospital in England. He returned to Canada living as a farmer in Elphin Ontario. He passed away on February 2, 1987.
